Project Summary
In collaboration with Disney, Siemens Water Purification sponsored a project with the ETC to develop a game to help young students understand the importance of clean drinking water. The game would become part of a suite of games that formed a model city. Each time the player would complete a game, that section would become cleaner and transform from black and white to full color. Model City Online
Purifighters
Our team's research led us to design Purifighters. In the game, the player matches a certain water contaminate to the chemical that neutralizes it. To make the interaction more engaging for young students, the "purification drops" move from left to right to remove "bad creatures" that are stationary in the water. If the player cannot clear the tank fast enough, the tank slowly fills with more creatures. Once the player had eliminated all of the contaminates, the tank would empty and a glass of water would fill up to the right of the screen. After all the glasses were full, the game would end and show the model city water purification section cleaner and pop with more color.
